Public Hearing On Chicago Police Reform (Little Village)
August 11, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
The Chicago City Council is expected to consider legislation in September involving police accountability reforms after five neighborhood hearings are held in August.
The city is looking to replace the Independent Police Review Authority (IPRA), which investigates police-involved shootings, with a new civilian investigative agency and create a Public Safety Auditor “to audit and monitor policing issues.”
Chicago aldermen will host five public hearings in August across the city to gather public input on replacing IPRA and creating a Public Safety Auditor. Each meeting will take place a 6:30 p.m.
